The Swell Story

As Told By Swell Forever® Founder, Brooke Henze

Bringing a Simple Concept to Life

In 2012, I walked away from a really cool job in San Francisco and tried to make sense of what to do with my life. How do I combine my love for pretty things, the creative world, and my life-long ache to help children who have few people in their lives to love them? Can I really do something that merges these passions together?

While working with another female entrepreneur, the idea dawned on me that there are few gift options on the market that come from the heart ... at least for the modern woman like me who can't sew or knit!  So for all the grandmothers, mothers, sisters, friends, daddies, grandfathers, co-workers, aunts, and cousins of the world who do not know one end of a sewing needle from the other, I developed the idea for Swell Forever®.  Use your words, straight from your heart, whatever you want to say and leave loving words that linger for someone you cherish.  Those precious words will be made a part of every gift we design.

It took several iterations of product ideas and prototypes to come up with the Forever Blanket®, our first collection of heirloom gifts. But in the end, I felt that a gift as simple as a one-of-a-kind blanket would represent warmth, comfort and security, something most customers would want for the one they love.

When you gift a Forever Blanket®, you are sending a wish someone's way for a Swell Forever.  And a Swell Forever or "happy ever after" is my wish for the 100,000 children waiting to be adopted in the U.S. foster care system.  You don't have to be a foster parent or an adoptive parent to contribute to my mission. Just share your heart with someone you love, take the chance to tell them how you feel and customize a Forever Blanket® for them.  We will make sure another life is touched by your kind gesture.
